Join the Journey 55 Transforming Tigers for a Fiesta Fundraiser Benefiting the Mixed Roots Foundation On behalf of the Journey 55 Leadership Tribe, we would love for you to join us as we honor the work done by the Mixed Roots Foundation at our “Let’s Fiesta for Mixed Roots” Gala Fundraiser Event to raise awareness of the urgent needs of foster youth across the country. We, the Journey 55 Transforming Tigers will come together to support the Mixed Roots Foundation for its impact on the foster care community. We are looking to feed and entertain you while you enjoy an evening supporting and giving money and hope to the future of tomorrow. Our youth in foster care have been among those most affected by the global Coronavirus pandemic, and they are extremely vulnerable during this difficult time. Social distancing has added to their trauma, tearing away their network of support— therapists, coaches, social workers, teachers, and guidance counselors and it is threatening their stability. The funds raised with this event will provide urgent resources - food, shelter, healthcare, childcare, transportation, and technology. Mixed Roots Foundation has received hundreds of requests from foster care organizations looking for their help. Through the #Let’s Fiesta For Mixed Roots Gala we aim to raise $15,000 for the Mixed Roots Foundation which serves the adoption and foster care community across the country! Our goal is to personally sponsor 20 children in the foster care system, and sponsor 5 additional Teens to attend the Lifeworks Teen Leadership Training. Mixed Roots Foundation (MRF) was established in 2011, MRF inspires future generations to achieve their dreams & goals through strategic outreach, multimedia, and innovative grant-making programs including mentoring, DNA testing & early detection screening, and unique scholarships & grants for the adoption and foster care community and their families.
