The Traditional Music Society is proud to present its annual World Music and Dance Showcase, featuring music and dance from world cultures. The Traditional Music Society is proud to present its annual World Music and Dance Showcase. As in previous years we will feature music and movements from many world cultures … West Africa, Cuba Haiti, and the Middle East. In presentation will be student ensembles from our various community music classes, displaying their talents and accomplishments. And as traditional would have it, we will feature our major performing ensemble, Soundz of Africa. And this year we will have, as our special guest artist, Gerald Trimble! Mr. Trimble brings with him years of musical experiences spanning several genres …. Irish folk, jazz, baroque, Indian and Middle Eastern. In addition to his expertise on the viola da gamba instrument, he has traveled the world extensively studying traditional string instruments from around the world. Mr. Trimble along with his group Jambaroque, will perform various selections from the Middle East. The Traditional Music Society is a not-for-profit arts in education organization dedicated to serving the Kansas City community through the exposure of music and dance from indigenous world cultures.
