Description
A night of cultural storytelling through food at the farm Spotlight is a cultural dinner series that features different cuisines, chefs, and artists to celebrate, honor and appreciate diverse cultures that make up our Kansas City community and reflect the background of many of the boys that go through the BoysGrow program. We are excited to announce the second dinner of the 2022 series spotlighting Thailand on the first day of AAPI History month. We invite you to come to this evening with family, friends, and community to celebrate and learn about Thailand. Chef Pam Liberda, along with her team at Waldo Thai will be bringing a Thai family feast-style dinner with special drink pairings (alcoholic and non alcoholic available) to showcase different regions of Thai food and culture: Northern, Northeastern, Central, and Southern Thailand. They will also be presenting on the food for the night along with filling the room with a nice ambiance and music—- perfect for sharing a meal. As always, the tickets sold for this event are all-inclusive for your meals and a bottomless bar. PLEASE NOTE: Given the nature of the family-feast style, there will only be 4-top tables this night. While we are still selling tickets in pairs of 2, if you do not request to sit with another pair, you will be sat with another set of guests that purchased tickets at random. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns or would like to make special requests at: [email protected] No dietary substitutions for this event. Limited vegetarian options. Featured Chef: Chef Pam Liberda, Waldo Thai Meet Pam Liberda Chef Pam Liberda was born in Lampang, Northern Thailand. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Mahidol University and emigrated to Kansas City in 1998. After falling in love with Teddy Liberda, who at the time owned Thai Place Restaurant chain, she decided to give up her nursing career and follow her passions in the culinary scene. She has since helped Teddy open eight restaurants. Liberda took time to focus on raising their two daughters and providing a stable home environment for her family. With no formal training, she acquired her culinary skills by watching and cooking homestyle dishes alongside her mother growing up. Liberda’s passion for food led her to work with Cerner as the International Station Chef, cooking her international inspired cuisine daily for more than 500 patrons. Now, with her husband Teddy’s help and support, Liberda is running the show, preparing her own authentic, homestyle, delicious Thai food for the guests at Waldo Thai. Liberda was voted “2021 Chef of the Year’ in Kansas City by Feast Magazine.
