Join UF/IFAS Extension Polk County Master Gardener Volunteers for workshops on harvesting rain water and composting at home with worms! Join UF/IFAS Extension Polk County Master Gardener Volunteers and the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Coordinator for classes on rain barrels and worm composting! You can register to attend one or both workshops. *Pre-registration preferred. Supplies limited for day of class registration for paid registrations. Cash or check ONLY at the door. Saturday, May 14, 2022 workshop schedule: 9:00 AM: Using Rain Barrels to Save Water: Learn how to install and use a rain barrel in your home landscape to reduce stormwater runoff. There is a $25 registration fee that includes a pre-assembled rain barrel with a hose bibb. 10:00 AM: Composting with Worms: Learn how to start a worm farm, what to feed the worms, and what to do with the worm castings. There is a $45 registration fee that includes a 10 gallon worm farm with tray and a bag of worm castings.Workshop presented by UF/IFAS Extension Polk County. We collect demographic information to ensure equitable access to Extension programs by all of our audiences. Each individual's participation is optional. Cancellation Policy: Programs, workshops, and events are subject to cancellation if a minimum number of attendees are not registered.
