Description
Hello, I am currently seeking out a live band to play a record i just finished. So if you're a freakazoid living in the greater Seattle area thats looking for a project / possible gig maybe continue reading ! My name is Ryile, i've played music since about the age of six when i first got a guitar and drum kit gifted to me by my grandma. I've been in several projects in Seattle the last ten or so years of my life, a few i'll list are: -Crater Lakes (solo project w/ life band) -Fauna Shade (co founder / bass player) *quit after the first year* -Spesh (live 2nd guitar player) -YDC (this is the project your currently reading about! Like i said, i just finished tracking / mixing a 9 track LP. It's currently being mastered. If you respond to this add i would be more than happy to share the record with you so you can get a feel. So far there has been quit a buzz about the record just from sharing the recordings around the community. Things are feeling good. So far people have made comparisons to John Lennon, Fiona Apple, The Beatles, Harry Nilsson. aldous harding. I dont know its Some type of avant garde pop freak folk pop sorta shit. My interested lay all over the place so all sorts of inspiration finds its way into what i do. Anyways lets get down to what i'm in search of. The live act calls for a bass player, and a drummer. Which is what im posting in search of. Currently i am switching between piano/singing and guitar/singing. A good friend of mine is currently playing mellotron/secondary piano/keyboard sounds as well as using a sampler to re-create sounds on the record that cant really be duplicated. I'm in search of a rhythm section to complete the group. Everyone i know is literally in 3-5 bands or just one and cant find the time to make it happen. I have a few leads on practice spaces. (we would have to talk about arrangements but don't expect to have to pay for any of that for now.) As for *BASS PLAYER*, im just looking for someone who literally just wants to be in a band (but be ok playing parts that were already written) the bass parts i wrote on the record are honestly probably the most interesting piece musically. They lock in a groove but also ride off a bit here and there. They were played pick style on a vintage fender mustang bass. so theres definitely a plunky sorta tone. Feel free to reach out and we can talk musical interests, playing style and whatever else ! As for *DRUMMER* This is probably the most important piece to the live group, i think a good musician can play in many styles but the drums are definitely a particular style. Very simple, Very subdued, almost like hip hop sorta drums, like if ringo starr played live with a rap group or something. I tracked the drums on a 60s rogers kit. Pretty minimal setup. Just a floor tom, bass drum, snare, hats, and a ride cymbal. I'm looking for people who definitely want to play live shows in Seattle. for sure hammer down a consistant practice schedule. At most once a week. I eventually would love to tour and try to do the whole thing, such as shop the record out to labels and all that, just see what could happen. Anyways, the is craigslist and i doubt im going to get any replies so ill try and keep it short. Thanks for your time in reading and your interest if you are peaked! Feel free to reach out if you think a project like this might interest you. Would love to swap social media accounts and have a chat! Oh and by the way, YDC stands for Youth Do Choir. I can explain later.. Decided to attach a few photos, one is obviously of me, the other is a merch idea in the works with the logo and such just so you can sorta peep a bit of the style / artistic direction!
