WAUWATOSA, WI — One of Wauwatosa's new aldermen was decided by a single ballot on Friday. Sean Lowe was the top vote getter for District 5 over Rob Gustafson, City of Wauwatosa spokesperson Eva Ennamorato said in a statement. Lowe and Gustafson tied on Tuesday when both candidates received 702 votes, but a provisional ballot opened Friday gave Lowe the winning hand, city officials said. The provisional ballot was marked but not counted because the voter it was issued to was unable to give required information, like proof of residence, according to My Vote WI. Here are the results of the Wauwatosa aldermanic race provided by the city. Nearly 20 percent of Wauwatosa's population is made of people of color, including Black, Asian and Hispanic or Latino, data from the U.S. Census Bureau showed.
