MINEOLA, NY — Authorities have arrested a man they say broke into a store that sells firearms in Mineola.
It happened shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday.
According to Nassau County police, an officer on routine patrol saw a broken glass window at Equilibrium Firearms at 283 Willis Ave. As the officer was traveling on Willis Avenue, he also observed a man, dressed in black, carrying a backpack and what appeared to be a long stick.
Following an investigation, police determined that the man walking on Willis Avenue had stolen an antique firearm from the store. The damage and proceeds value was approximately $4,800 USC, according to officials.
The individual — later identified as 33-year-old Brooklyn resident Frantzcy Dorelien — was arrested without incident. Police say he has been charged with burglary, possession of burglar tools, criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a weapon.
