Victim Of School Bus Collision Dies: Police

MERRICK, NY — A man, caught in the crosshairs of a school bus crash last month, has died. Police said Marc Kopman, 70, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday night. Kopman was listed in critical condition after getting hit when a bus jumped the sidewalk on Merrick Avenue. The bus, which had no children in it at the time, also struck the Merrick Park Cleaners and Tailors on March 28. The 63-year-old bus driver and a 61-year-old pick-up truck driver suffered minor injuries. Police have not charged anyone with criminality.
