WALLINGFORD, CT — A Wallingford woman is accused of assaulting another woman during a domestic dispute and leaving the home with a 7-year-old child, according to police. Police responded to the incident around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and found that Omamh Hussein, 31, left the scene with a child from the home. Hussein was later found and arrested at the Westfield Mall in Trumbull, according to Sgt. Stephen Jaques. An investigation found that Hussein choked, hit and threw a knife at the victim during the fight inside the home, according to Jaques. Jaques said Hussein left the home in an older van with California license plates after taking the child. She was found at the Westfield Mall with the assistance of the Trumbull Police Department. Neither the child or Hussein were injured, Jaques said. Hussein was arrested on charges of risk of injury to a minor, disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree strangulation and second-degree unlawful restraint. She was released after posting a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
