Vale UMC Preschool is excited to offer a play-based half-day program which meets the needs of individual children and fosters independence in a caring environment. We are seeking a Teacher Assistant to join our 3 & 4-year-old class of 15 children with 3 total adults. This is a part-time position, Tuesday through Thursday 9 – 1:00 p.m. The essential requirements of this job include but are not limited to: - Supervising children to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students - Providing for the educational needs and interests of children - Supporting the physical, developmental, and social-emotional needs of each child - Maintaining a sanitary, healthy environment for students and teachers - Demonstrating effective communication skills and positive relations with children, parents, and care-givers - Regular attendance and punctuality - Assisting in managing the classroom in a positive and caring manner You will be a great fit at Vale UMC if you are nurturing, reliable, trustworthy, personable, and interested in the education of young children. Qualifications: - CDA, Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred - Passion for working with children - Working knowledge of the behaviors and developmental stages of preschool age children - Customer service skills - Knowledge of safety practices as they relate to preschool age children - Willingness to become CPR/First Aid trained and MAT trained
