BOSTON — Two Boston police officers were taken to the hospital and three people were arrested after a shooting in Chinatown early Monday morning.
Officers responded to reports of a person with a gun inside a gray SUV at 9 Tyler Street just after 2 a.m. According to police, the SUV struck two other parked cars and Boston police discharged their firearms.
A spokesperson from the Boston Police Department says no one was struck by gunfire, but a firearm was found at the scene.
"Officers approached the vehicle -- they observed and approached the vehicle," Boston Police Deputy Supt. Felipe Colon said. " The vehicle subsequently struck two parked motor vehicles. Two officers did just discharged a firearm, no suspect was struck."
Both officers were taken to Boston Medical Center with minor injuries, and the three who were arrested are scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court Monday.
An investigation remains ongoing.
