MILFORD, CT — The Planning and Zoning Commission approved a plan to expand and add an apartment unit to a downtown building. The mixed-use building will become the home of a tailoring and retail business. The plan calls for expanding 240 Broad St., which currently has retail space on the first floor and a single apartment on the second floor. The plan is to add a second apartment to the second floor. The building was constructed in 1900 and is currently in a dilapidated state, said attorney Thomas Lynch, who represented the applicant, Mia Case Properties LLC. Unit recently, it was a package store. The first floor would be used as a tailoring business with some retail space, Lynch said during the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting April 5. The business is currently housed in a River Street location.
