SECAUCUS, NJ — A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Sunday night just west of the Secaucus Junction train station, according to an NJ Transit spokesman.
The man was hit at approximately 9:38 p.m. by a Pascack Valley Line train that had just departed from the Hoboken train station.
The adult man was on the tracks just west of the station when he was hit. It is still unclear if this was a suicide or if the man accidentally fell on the train tracks or was walking on the tracks. NJ Transit also did not release the name of the man or where he lives.
There were no injuries reported to the 50 customers and crew members on board. The train was headed to Spring Valley, New York. New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.
