Chandra is 20 weeks old and loves hiking (already earned her Boulder off leash tag!), playing in the water, fetching stuffed toys, and tug of war. She is confident and outgoing and as playful as you'd expect from a puppy, but as a former service dog prospect her overall manners and ability to calmly remain in place for an extended period are far better than the average dog. She is curious about cats, squirrels, bunnies, and birds but hasn't shown any interest in chasing them. However, she is GREAT at chasing tennis balls and Frisbees! She is crate trained and nearly house trained, good on leash, and knows sit, down, come here, take it, leave it, and assorted other phrases such as 'night night', 'go inside' and 'get in the car'. When visiting stores she's been curious about everything but has remained focused and well behaved. Unfortunately for me, Chandra decided she would rather be a pet and told me by growling when another dog approaches her while she's eating. She's been very well socialized since I adopted her and gets along well with other dogs except for mealtimes, and has never displayed aggression towards a human. I've spent a lot of time and money trying to stop her resource guarding but there hasn't been much improvement. I'm currently (Monday the 11th) living in Boulder and am in the process of moving to Littleton (hopefully done by Thursday). I'll be back and forth all week. Chandra was one of several puppies that were brought from McKinney, TX to the Boulder Valley Humane Society. Her date of birth is 11/21/21, and her DNA test correctly came back as 100% good dog. She's a mix of German Shepherd, American Staffordshire Terrier, APBT, Australian Cattle Dog, Golden Retriever, Chow, Boxer, Rottweiler, Australian Shepherd, Shar-Pei, Siberian Husky, Chihuahua, Doberman, Alaskan Malamute, and Labrador Retriever. I'm not trying to make finding a puppy difficult, but I want to do the best I can to place her in a home that's a great fit for everyone so she never ends up here again! Chandra is current on all vaccinations and is microchipped, spayed, and on heartworm preventative. She comes with some food as well as her toothbrush, collar, leash, and favorite fleece blankie.
