MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Two people were arrested and over $200,000 in heroin was seized in Mercer County, Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Monday afternoon. This comes after a month-long investigation into narcotics distribution in the area, authorities said. Dionys Rivas, 33 of Trenton and his girlfriend Rosilenny DeJesus, 22 were each charged with numerous narcotics offenses, including first-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance and first-degree possession with the intent to distribute, Onofri said. On April 7, detectives from the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security Investigations, conducted a motor vehicle stop of a white car belonging to Rivas near exit 7A in Robbinsville Township. Rivas was driving the car and DeJesus was in the front passenger seat. During a search of the car, detectives found 425 bricks of heroin inside a gym bag in the trunk, Onofri said. A search of Rivas' home on South Clinton Avenue revealed 10 grams of cocaine. Rivas and DeJesus were detained without incident. The prosecutor's office has filed motions to detain both Rivas and DeJesus pending trial. According to Prosecutor Onofri, the street value of the confiscated heroin is approximately $212,500 and the cocaine is approximately $1,000. Thank you for reading. Have a correction or news tip?
