Voter turnout is difficult to trace and hard to predict, but it can provide insight into the opinions of the party base.
Tim O'Hare, who earned an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, won the county's Republican primary in every county commissioners precinct. Analysis of voting precincts show O'Hare, along with Tarrant County District Attorney candidates Matt Krause and Phil Sorrells, found particular strength in the suburbs.
Meanwhile, southwest Fort Worth sided with the more moderate candidates Betsy Price and Mollee Westfall.
The average turnout for the March 1 primary across Tarrant County was 10.89%. Turnout for local candidates tends to be lower compared to higher-profile national races.
