DARIEN, CT — From now through March 31, 2020, the Darien Police Department "will be enforcing the Town's overnight parking ban in an effort to safely and effectively allow public works crews to clear the streets of snow and ice," authorities announced. Those enforcement efforts will include fines.
The overnight parking ban went into effect on Dec. 1. Darien and the rest of Connecticut was hit with periods of snow Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning, which resulted in a two-hour delay for the local public schools on Tuesday.
Darien's overnight ban is "in effect on public roadways between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.," and vehicles found to be in violation will be subject to a $30 fine, police said.
From 12/1/2019 to 3/31/2020, DPD will be enforcing the overnight parking ban in an effort to safely and effectively allow public works crews to clear the streets of snow & ice.
