NORRISTOWN, PA — An Eagleville man who had pleaded guilty back in January to threatening the Montgomery County Democratic Party headquarters in Norristown is scheduled to be sentenced before a federal judge this week. Anthony Nero, who had pleaded guilty to charges of cyberstalking and sending threatening messages, is expected to be handed his sentence on Thursday during a court proceeding at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, according to federal prosecutors. Patch reported on Nero's case earlier this year. Nero, 48, had admitted to sending threatening messages to the Montgomery County Democratic Party office building in Norristown in January 2021. In an email, he had threatened "random acts of violence," and wrote "you should probably beef up security," Patch previously reported, citing court records in the case. In February 2021, Nero reportedly told Norristown Police that he was also the individual who shot a .45 caliber handgun three times at the Montgomery County Democratic Pary office building in the borough.
