Dear Editor: At this unprecedented time, the need for sound and steady Board of Education leadership has never been greater. With their student-centered approach, Sara Parent and Mike Burke are the leaders we need to meet the moment and channel our full depth of resources for our kids. Our schools are brimming with the fundamentals necessary to provide an exemplary education that leads our students toward productive lives as professionals and citizens. However, to do so, we must build on our robust curriculum and address some of the challenges our district faces: communication, transparency, forward-thinking flexibility and adaptability. As a seasoned educator, Sara understands how policies created in a boardroom translate to the realities of a classroom. She has the view and voice to round out the board alongside Mike, with practical and proactive strategies that help our schools reach their full potential for our kids.
