Letter to the editor from Glenn Ritch: Oct. 26, 2020 Darien needs and deserves competent and knowledgeable leaders for our Board of Education. These qualities and more can be found in Sara Parent and Mike Burke. Sara Parent, with a Master in Curriculum and Teaching from Columbia University and years of experience would bring firsthand knowledge needed while our schools adapt to the requirements of remote teaching. She will be the only member of the Board with an Education background. Mike Burke has served two terms on the board where he has brought both his passion for education and his experience as an attorney to help him forge common ground with his fellow board members, expertise to the negotiation of contracts and careful attention to fiscal responsibilities. Mike and Sarah are both passionate about Darien and our children. And the best choices for our Board of Education.
