LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Kids and their families gathered at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach to take place in a filmed public art project April 1, The Daily Pilot reported. The children were given umbrellas and chalk before joining their families in two hours of play.
The art project, entitled "Look Up," was created by artist Elizabeth Turk and Erik Thienes as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic life, according to The Daily Pilot.
While the children twirled colorfully painted umbrellas, filled the blacktop with vibrant drawings and otherwise played around, a drone filmed the action from the sky above.
Mar Stash, art expression director for the Boys & Girls Club, told The Daily Pilot that the kids were ecstatic to be out on the blacktop playing with one another. They continued to talk about the flash art experience a week after the event, Stash told The Daily Pilot.
