Position announcement Title: Fundraising Associate (entry-level) Reports to: Director of Development Salary: $31,200 POSITION SUMMARY This entry-level position is one of two Fundraising Associates within the Development Office who work collaboratively together to coordinate fundraising events, create promotional materials, participate in community activities, and create new opportunities for donor engagement. ABOUT YOU You are an energetic, creative, and organized self-starter who also works well as part of a cohesive team. You are an engaging and persuasive communicator, both verbally and in writing. You are customer-service oriented. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or public relationsAbility to maintain the highest levels of integrity, sound judgment, and confidentiality Clear and concise writing, verbal, and presentation skills with the flexibility to adapt to a range of audiences Working knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 environment; Working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop a plus QUALITIES Highly organized and detail-oriented Skilled at managing multiple projects at once and able to adapt to changes while completing work within deadlines Professional and cooperative manner and the ability to work with donors, board members, and community leaders Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think on your feet KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Establish, cultivate, and secure strong relationships and partnerships with individual donors as well as businesses/corporations Solicit and secure sponsorships, ticket sales, and in-kind donations for fundraising events Manage donor engagement activity through Salesforce CRMWork with the director of communications as needed to prepare event-related materials, including postcards, invitations, posters, and other promotional materials, ensuring their timely distributionPlan and execute all event logistics, registration, and follow-upAnalyze event data and outcomes to continually improve processes and increase fundraising opportunities. Develop and implement new fundraising initiativesCreate financial reports for fundraising events and analyze event statistics to recommend improvements both in terms of quality of the event, and cost reduction opportunitiesParticipate in public speaking events as invited by civic organizations and The United WayCoordinate the organization’s employee campaign for The United WayAttend chamber of commerce events to develop a network of diverse supporters and volunteers, and to show support of local businesses WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a full-time position normally requiring attendance from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the main administrative offices in New Lenox Attendance at meetings and events in the evening and on weekends is periodically required If you are a creative self-starter and enjoy meeting new people, this high-energy job is for you.
