DARIEN, CT — Paychecks and gift cards meant for employees were reported stolen from an office at Woodway Country Club sometime between Dec. 11 and 12, according to Darien police.
Also reported stolen from the Hoyt Street country club were phone charges, face masks, toilet paper, a vacuum and a sweatshirt, police said.
The values of the paychecks and gift cards were not disclosed, but police said that some checks already had been cashed. Both the paychecks and gift cards had been left out on a desk when they were taken.
"There were no signs of forced entry but the employee noted a window had been left open," Darien police said.
