Here are the top three stories today in Savannah: The Bryan County Disaster Response Fund received a $10,000 donation from Savannah-based Gulfstream Aerospace. The donation was reportedly given in response to the recent tornado that destroyed several Bryan County communities. Donations toward the United Way of the Coastal Empire can be made by texting HelpToday to 40403. (fox28media.com)The Savannah Philharmonic is hosting Story Under The Stars by partnering with Hospice Savannah. The exciting event will be held on Apr. 24 in Forsyth Park at 6:00 p.m. Attendees will get to experience a powerful story coupled with original musical performances by the philharmonic's Woodwind Quartet. (WTOC)A collection of Savannah-based nonpartisan groups joined forces on Sunday to host a voter empowerment event. Savannah voters will be heading to the polling booths on May 24 for the area's primary election. Organizers of the event reportedly hope to hold more voter outreach and education events in the coming months.
