Man Arrested In Fulton County, Impregnated Underage Relative: Deputies

FULTON COUNTY, GA — Fulton County deputies arrested a Massachusetts man accused of impregnating an underage relative. Roque Garcia-Ortiz is charged with three counts of rape, three counts of aggravated rape of a child and one count of rape of a child with force. "Our thoughts are with the victim, and we will continue to go after criminals throughout Fulton County's 15 cities," the sheriff's office posted to Facebook. According to the sheriff's office, this weekend, the Fall River Police Department in Massachusetts reached out to the Scorpion Unit regarding a 14-year-old victim said to have been impregnated by a male relative. The Scorpion Unit acted quickly, fearing the suspect was planning on flying to Puerto Rico where he has family ties, the sheriff's office said. The Scorpion Unit ultimately located Ortiz at a hotel in East Point and arrested him. He remains at the Fulton County Jail awaiting extradition back to Massachusetts. The Scorpion Unit was created to capture wanted fugitives in Fulton County.
