He then spent 16 years in private practice in Utah before taking a sabbatical to help develop a new wireless standard in medicine and other industries. He returned to pediatric ophthalmology in 2018 to continue research, teaching, and the practice of medicine."I can't tell you how good it feels to be back in New England, practicing medicine with such a professional and honorable group," he says of joining Connecticut Eye Consultants. "It's been a fascinating journey, but I think we all eventually find our way back home." Dr. Abrams is a longtime member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and served for nine years on the board of the nonprofit Children's Eye Foundation, whose mission is fighting preventable blindness in children around the world. He will see both children and adults in our Danbury office beginning Oct. 5.
