DANBURY — Nine city residents died from the coronavirus in the month of November, based upon the latest data delivered by the state Department o Public Health. The city had previously reported just four deaths or the month.
Mayor Mark Boughton delivered the update during a Facebook livestream on Monday evening. He explained that the lag was due to a delay in the state medical examiner confirming the deaths.
Boughton reported 452 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus over the past four days: 175 on Friday, 85 on Saturday, 137 on Sunday and 55 on Monday.
"It' very dangerous out there," Boughton said. "The spread is all over the place."
The DPH has recorded 7,048 cases of COVID-19 in Danbury since the start of the pandemic.
