Description
Looking to join or form a live band that drops jaws.
(Also into recording but the last two years has been filled with a *lot* of recording projects. I want this project to be focused on the live experience first.)
Drums is my primary instrument, and I'm pretty decent/solid though not super-duper technical. I also play a little bass guitar, some basic keyboards, do a lot of recording/mixing/production, and know my way around turntables, drum machines and the like. I'm open to playing other instruments as long as drums are in the mix, and I'm into a lot of genres, but straight-up metal is not really my bag, nor is country or straight-ahead jazz. Not interested in cover/tribute bands or pill/powder/needle problems.
I'm in my 40s, have played in few bands, put out records, toured, etc. I like music that blends structure and improvisation. Current inspirations: CAN, Fela Kuti, PJ Harvey, Dinner Party, Makaya McCraven, Sly and Robbie, ISIS, Tortoise.
I have a practice room in Ballard. If this sounds cool, send me links to your stuff and I'll do the same.
Also: Tax the rich, house the poor.
