Alien Monster Madness, We need rock music. A new scene really
Meets
Ithaca NY
Description
I need a band. Writing a lot of songs and have an aim toward older style rock'n'roll, aiming toward more of a "hollow" sound. Souls, bluesy, maybe inspired by something like The Animals, early rock'n'roll, that feeling, you know, of the "Outsider" stuff. Not the marketed kind, and with a lot of energy. Some bastard animals. Not trust fund kids but will take funding for gear and shows! Rock n Roll Therapy of having too much energy and life and you're supposed to feel bad or shut down about it in this world, but not holding back. Saying to hell with that, I'm going to stay vibrant and be my own way. The "all this painful shit" is going to be turned into beauty. "Im going to tell a story with my sound and song." Something primitive but proper, sort of a rock'n'roll ghost and phantom ethereal setting. Looking for players for this. I'm a bit crazy but music and creations are the only way. I'm looking for people with their heads together who can hold music together. So you can be crazy too but sober and with it is what's being called out for. And make something a bit, well, I feel like Ithaca has missed that and the music scene as a whole has missed that for a while. I was waiting for it to sort of come around but we have to do it ourselves, what we want to see. I like bands like The Cramps, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Sonics. Lightnin' Hopkins, A band called Bonniwell Music Machine/The Music Machine, Howlin Wolf. Also like bands like Hawkwind, Stooges, a lot of solo acts out there, some of that western rock b-side grit. Lee Hazel sounding early wildness. Something with some space between the playing, intense but slowed down. Soulful. Have a lot of songs and ideas written and need some players, looking for bass and piano/keys, some percussion. Really wanting to build that for shows. Let's have some fun and make things rockier around ithaca and the fingerlakes. A new music community for everyone else around here who can't fit in anyway.
