Description

"Oso" is a 3 year old, male, un-fixed, purebreed Dutch Shepherd that needs a great home. To be considered you must: 1) Know the breed and what they require. 2) Live in a house. No apartments. 3) Have a fenced yard. 4) Be willing to devote at least an hour a day exercising him. Play ball, run, bike, hike, etc. 5) Kennel or crate him no more than absolutely necessary. Oso is used to having full access to the house when indoors. He sleeps in my bed, lies on the couch, rides in the car, eats in the kitchen. 6) He is a gentle, loving dog that loves attention. Above all, exercise and don't do long stays in his kennel. He is obedience trained, housebroken, kennel trained. He doesn't bark much, except strangers in the dark, squirrels, rabbits and he will whine when he sees other dogs. He doesn't "play" with other dogs. If he is playing ball, he will ignore them unless they try to take his ball. Tennis balls are no big deal, he prefers his orange and blue fetch-it balls. Tennis balls work great for indoors. He is up to date on all shots, just had his annual check-up and booster shots. I have him on oral flea/tick medicine as well as oral heartworm preventative. His most recent check-up included heartworm test (negative). He's been exposed to cats and is just curious about them, not aggressive. He is ok with other dogs as long as they aren't aggressive to him or try to take his chuck-it balls. He is good with kids, other people but will try to stand on his hind legs to greet them. He has only been fed Taste of the Wild dog food. High Plains is his favorite. Although he will walk on a leash, he will tend to pull to check out smells, etc. He is very intelligent. He is not registered with AKC, nor does he have lineage papers. He is in excellent physical shape.
