DANBURY, CT – Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton has promised to run down Main Street in a chicken suit if he loses a fundraising challenge for the United Way of Western Connecticut.
On Thursday, Boughton announced he is participating in the Feeding Our Neighbors Challenge to raise money for the Danbury Food Collaborative. The fundraising challenge aims to provide local families with a warm meal for Thanksgiving.
According to the United Way, in July 2020 Danbury Food Collaborative member pantries served more than 7,000 local households.
To date, the challenge has raised $1,285.
If the mayor wins the challenge, Taylor Jean O'Brien, communications specialist, will run down Main Street in an inflatable unicorn suit.
