Police Charge Danbury Parolee With Selling Drugs

DANBURY, CT — Police have taken a city man into custody following a weeks-long investigation. After receiving multiple complaints from residents that Thomas William Beck, 35, was dealing in illegal drugs, police began the investigation, which ended with the execution of search and seizure warrants on Thursday. Police began their surveillance of Beck's home on Mirijo Road at 7 a.m., and reported they spied him "traveling throughout the area to engage in suspected drug transactions." "After stopping in a local shopping center parking lot, investigators seized Beck and executed a series of search and seizure warrants, which included his person and residence," Det. Lt. Mark Williams said. Police seized more than $2,000 in cash and several ounces of illegal drugs, which consisted of marijuana, fentanyl, crack cocaine and heroin. In addition to the drugs and money, Beck was found to be in possession of several scales and packaging material, all of which supported the complaints that he was selling illegal drugs, according to the police report. Beck was charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than a kilogram of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of more than an ounce of opioids with intent to sell, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to Sell, and risk of injury to a child. He is being held for a $250,000 bond pending a court appearance. Police also issued a remand to custody order as Beck is currently on parole for a conviction related to violent criminal offenses with the state Department of Corrections.
