Emergency on call response position. If 911 services are compromised, must be able to respond rapidly to repair damage unless written notice is received 24 hours in advance. Job Description: • Strive to make MC Underground a premier drilling company, maintain a positive attitude, participate in weekly safety meetings, promote a safe work environment • Safely assist the drill crew in any and every function possible to keep the drill moving forward without any interruption, (fuel drill, pothole, dig exit pits, prepare pipe for installation, fetch water, etc.) • Safely hand dig or hydro excavate around utilities to identify and avoid • Hand dig to clear debris for operator and/or spot for utility crossings • Measure utilities for clearance, communicate clearance with operator • Support horizontal directional drill operator, excavator operator and other team members as directed • Put up and take down road work signage as directed by supervisor • Maintain a fully always secured (cones )work location • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and crew • Load, transport and unload construction materials and tools • Safely and efficiently operate tools and equipment based on project requirements • Assist with daily job site cleanup, identifying and securing hazards (core plates, safety fence, cones, etc.,) • Maintain equipment assigned to you in a safe and operable condition • Be accountable for all aspects of the work you are assigned • Grease and fuel equipment as needed, check fluids daily, power wash equipment at days end. • Assist with materials pick up to ensure all materials needed for project are obtained with one trip to material yard whenever possible, have a material list prepared, badge on person and required PPE, review and inspect received material to ensure it is the correct material per print • Maintain a 0-tolerance drug free workplace • Be mindful the company’s best interest, including the care, safe and lawful operation of company vehicles and equipment Qualifications: • Must be 18 years of age • Utility installation experienced preferred • OSHA Certification preferred • Driver's license with good driving record required • Eligible work visa or US Citizen required • Be able to lift 75lbs, stand, squat, kneel • Must be comfortable working around heavy equipment and machinery • Be able to work independently or with a team • Ability to drive a truck and trailer • References required • Must know, understand, OSHA safety regulations • Passing Drug test and background check required • Must be safety oriented and exhibit safe work habits • Precise hand-eye coordination • Ability to identify and distinguish colors • Typical workday is 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday -- Friday. However, less and/or additional hours and/or Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary. -travel may be necessary in some circumstances.
