I’ve been playing bass for a long time and during the pandemic I started getting serious about drumming. For fun. Taking some gigs as a drummer would be a somewhat new experience for me, although I did drum for a youth band I was coaching when the drummer couldn’t make the gig.
I don’t know if I’m looking to be a full time band member with anyone, since I also freelance on bass, but adding some drumming gigs to my Calendar would be fun. As a bassist I’ve worked in bands with many amazing drummers…so let me be clear that I’m not a showy chops drummer but can keep time and groove pretty well if I do say so.
I’d be down with jamming with your band to see if it’s a good fit.
As a bassist I don’t usually play with musicians who need to rehearse before a gig… as a drummer, I don’t think I’d mind, but if the point is to play covers, as recorded, then I don’t really see the point.
I’m in my 50’s, youthful and don’t care how old/young you are.
Not in to politics and don’t care about yours, but I believe that everyone should be treated equally, and that TV/radio talk shows create ignorant fans. If you’re into divisive partisan politics please don’t call.
One last thing, I believe that a working musician should make in the ballpark of at least $200 per gig…including tips, but to start I’m not sure I’ll be too picky since I’m ‘new’ at this.
Thanks
