Currently we are hiring for our Waterer/Plant Care Position. This is a very important position in any landscaping company. The primary responsibility of the Waterer/Plant care giver is to drive a water truck to all commercial site plantings that are still within the given warranty period and make sure that all plantings are watered and assessed for health on a regular basis. While not watering, they will provide production support to field crews (working on either maintenance or construction crews) and support to yard and shop operations. This is a position for someone who: Has a basic understanding of plant health Can operate (or able to learn to operate) pumps and large/small equipment (skid steer, wheel loader, powered hand tools, etc.) Can be self directed throughout the day, is reliable, and can stick to a schedule (some weekends required depending on weather) Can communicate very well Willing to be versatile and work on a wider range of tasks then just watering At times, able to direct others on watering tasks The waterer is responsible for creating the schedule of which sites need to be watered and when depending on the area, type of plantings, and weather, and making sure they stick to the watering plan. If something is scheduled to be watered on a certain day, it has to be watered that day. This position requires a high degree of organizational and scheduling skills and someone who is very dependable and able to work on their own and in a team setting. This position can have demanding work hours that start earlier in the morning and can go later in the day with the possibility for both Saturdays and Sundays depending on the weather. It is necessary to be able to drive and back up a truck and trailer, be able to operate a basic pump motor, and be able to use various small hand tools and yard equipment. Must have a valid drivers license.
