I am currently facing a dental dilemma! One of my back molars is suffering from inflammation due to a large cavity. I have been to the dentist and he recommends 1 of 2 things. Either a root canal or extraction. I asked him about the root canal and he told me that a root canal would be the best option due to the fact that since I do need orthodontics, it would be best to retain my natural tooth because I don't have enough bone to support an implant, should I proceed with an extraction. On the flip side, I have done some research and read articles and watched a couple youtube videos about root canals being toxic and that there are better alternatives. I am just lost right now. A Root Canal is expensive even with insurance. Therefore, I don't know what to do?? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
