possum rescue needed

hello....Marvin the cat put a small very young possum on the door step....it has a wound and appeared dead...put it on the table and gave it a little water with a syringe and then some rescue remedy...which it immediately responded to could see it breathe and it moved 1 of it's ears....then gave it some juice from a cat can....have put the possum in a cap that is sheep skin and it is feels safe enough in there to stay there for now...the wound was bleeding and missing fur bottom of neck top of shoulder on one of it's side...put some anti-septic salve on it...don't now if it has any other injury....hoping to hear from some one who can rehab him.....never had a cat hurt a possum before...in the dark wondering if the cat thought it was a rat....once had a baby possum that would come in and eat off the same plate as one of the cats...the cats never hurt one before no matter how small...vance...
