WARMTH is collaborating with UnderWorld Black Arts Festival to offer a two-part special event at The Lounge at Liberty Exhibition Hall. Payment options will include CashApp, Venmo, and cold hard cash.PART ONE: N****s, Negus, Whoever You Are! a curated discussion6:30-7:30pm (downstairs in The Lounge)Join us for a community dialogue exploring the N-word and the scope of its usage in Black music and culture. We will take on this subject matter with care and out of the realm of taboo to fully understand perspectives around nuance, subversion and expression. Audience will be capped at 100 people for this curated discussion facilitated by the rap group Patterns of Chaos and Napoleon Maddox of UnderWorld Black Arts Festival and moderated by Cheryl Durgans, writer, artist and ancestral herbalist enthusiast. PART TWO: WARMTH - Heat Rises a music exploration & DJ showcase event7:30pm-12:00am (upstairs at Liberty Exhibition Hall)DJ PrymtimeDJ Rare GrooveMr. Fantastic WARMTH is a curated music exploration series for creatives and lovers of music. Anchored sonically in R&B, Hip Hop and House music genres, we provide a platform for DJs and performing artists to showcase their ingenuity, technique and distinct sound. This series invites Cincinnati creatives to be in communion with one another through celebration of Black artistic excellence in the region. Discover more. The UnderWorld Black Arts Festival was launched in 2018 as UnderWorld Jazz Festival to amplify rich, colorful and nuanced black art traditions. We use the word "underworld" because despite the revenue it generates, Black art remains marginal to mainstream society.
