Learn and practice cooperative living skills with fellow community members and seekers in a welcoming collaborative space. Come join us in person at last for the NICA Spring Gathering on beautiful Vashon Island May 7 from 10 to 5 NICA's 2022 Spring Gathering, themed: "Renewing society through community", brings together experienced community members with community seekers to learn about, engage with and practice the cooperative living skills that will enable everyone to survive and thrive during challenging times. Speakers Yana Ludwig and Betty Martin will share from their wealth of knowledge and experience, and we'll interact in small groups to model the ideas we've gained. Please bring food for a potluck lunch. Carpooling encouraged, public transportation is convenient for most. For directions, click on the "view map" link on the right side of this page and then one of the icons at the bottom: the car for driving, the bus for public transit, or the bicycle for biking. No previous experience needed, but Pre-Registration is required as the space is limited in size. ⸙ $15 for individuals. Or we invite you to renew or become a member of the Northwest Intentional Communities Association (NICA). NICA is an educational 501c3 nonprofit organization. NICA’s Mission is to grow and support Intentional Communities in Cascadia bioregion, to make visible the many models of successful, intentionally cooperative ways of living that exist here. We coordinate the exchange of knowledge about Intentional Communities not only to showcase how they benefit members’ lives, but to foster ecological, economic and social sustainability in the wider culture. ⸙ Annual individual membership in NICA is $15, which includes free registration for this event. ⸙ $25 for community membership which includes free registration for all members of that community, ⸙ free for NICA members, including members of member communities, and for members of Vashon CoHousing. Additional donations will be greatly appreciated. Parking: Please park on the street outside Vashon CoHousing. There should be plenty of street parking on the south side of SW Bank Rd, to the west of Vashon CoHousing’s entrance. Just look for the signs on the street for NICA parking.
