An intimate evening for women exploring Mary's faithfulness to God's call on her life, embracing both radiant joy as well as deep pain.
Within the Gospels, Mary’s story tells of a constant intertwining of joy and pain in her life. Known by many in the early church as “the first disciple” for her “yes” to the Lord’s call to bear Christ to the world, she knew herself to be chosen and magnified by the Lord. Yet, she also waited for her soul to be pierced through that very same call. Her life is a reminder that when God calls us, his call often involves both radiant joy as well as deep pain.
What can we learn from her example with regards to our own identities and vocation as women? How might those places of both pain and vulnerability become the very places in which we most deeply encounter God in our lives? And what does it look like to wholeheartedly surrender to God’s call on our lives to bear Christ to the world around us?
