Chimney Rock State Park Summer Solstice Hike
Get a head start on the longest day of the year by hiking with a park ranger and catching the first summer sunrise from Party Rock. Party Rock offers expansive views of The Hickory Nut Gorge, Chimney Rock Mountain and Lake Lure. The hike is rated strenuous, 1.50 miles round trip, on a very steep, rugged, rocky path.
Flashlights are required for all participants, headlamps recommended. Bring plenty of water, snack, and wear durable footwear.
Participants will meet at the Rumbling Bald Climbing Access parking lot in Chimney Rock State Park at 5:30 a.m. Parking is limited, so reservations through this site will be required.
