Pack Leader (Dog Walker) Hiring Pack Leaders (Dog Walkers) (Oakland/ Rockridge / Claremont) Would you like to get paid to spend time with dogs on local trails and beaches? Oakland Pet Care offers a positive-reinforcement pet care experience to support families in the East Bay (primarily North Oakland and Rockridge). The dogs we walk are carefully vetted based on individual temperament and trained before hitting the trails. The largest part of our business is off-leash pack hikes and leashed walks. We’re looking for an experienced pack leader to join our team! We believe dogs should be out on the streets and not in cars. We pride ourselves on our low carbon footprint. Our dogs are all close together, so pick-up times are quick, a fraction of the time it takes everyone else; instead, you'll be spending most of your time out in the fresh air getting exercise, walking dogs who adore you while getting paid well to do it. Our solo neighborhood walks are generally 30-45 minutes. We also offer 60 minute off-leash hikes as well (up to 6 dogs). Our clients and dogs love us and we are proud of our 5-star yelp reviews! We are also looking for a pet sitter to join our team. Pet sitting candidates must have pet sitting references at time of application. You must also have reliable transportation and prior pet sitting experience. To learn more about us, visit our website: www.oaklandpetcare.com Essential Duties · Pick up and walk dogs individually on a leash and pick up pet waste · Train and reinforce good manners and basic obedience, including leash manners, and recall · Leave daily walk reports for clients · Clean and inspect dogs daily for injury, ticks, foxtails, etc. Qualifications · Reliability and personal integrity · Understanding of dog behavior and excellent skills reading dog body language. · Excellent customer service and leadership skills · Attention to detail · Ability to work productively on one’s own · Loving and respecting animals · Access to an appropriate vehicle and auto insurance · Clean driving record · Professional dog walking experience (pet sitting experience a plus) · Dog walking or training certification puts you at the top of our pay scale.
