Foreman/Lead Carpenter - Professional Remodelers McCabe Fine Builders is a residential and light commercial construction company. We are seeking experienced working Foremen, Journeyman remodelers, and Laborers. Job Description: The Working Foreman is responsible for the successful completion of the jobs assigned, including performing projects on time, on budget, and with a high level of quality and safety. The Superintendent will also maintain good communication with team members, customers and vendors. Minimum Qualifications: 6-10 years remodeling experience of occupied spaces Knowledge in the area of construction management. Prior experience as a lead carpenter & extensive knowledge of residential construction, practices, procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, safety, and applicable building codes. Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades. Must have reliable transportation & tools. Communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Can organize and schedule multiple projects at various stages in the construction process. Able to clearly explain steps, provide clear directions, and answer questions about the construction process to other employees and customers. Ensure the productive and safe use of all labor-related equipment and materials. Supervise all job site activities. Work in an open, positive manner to resolve challenges as they arise. Maintain a positive and respectful working relationship with field and office employees. Work with subcontractors and manage scheduling and quality control. Verify material quantities to ensure accuracy to the project specifications. Ensure that each project maintains a professional, clean, and secure environment. Project completion to a zero-defect punch list prior to the final walkthrough. On-time Delivery of Projects. To be proficient in this position, you must be equipped with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities. Abilities: Prepare, read, interpret, and work from sketches, drawings, plans, and blueprints. Able to do accurate layouts. Work hands-on with others to complete daily milestones Provide leadership and technical assistance to others. Work effectively and cooperatively with the Project Manager, clients, and trade contractors. Keep accurate records. Give clear and concise instructions. Schedule milestones Be a problem-solving resource for co-workers Be flexible when unforeseen complications arise Treat client homes and businesses with the utmost respect Be responsible for the efficient and profitable use of the company’s time, manpower, and materials on each project Be responsible for tracking the progress of the projects under your supervision
