Drummer Seeking A Challenge?

Meets

Oakland CA

Description

Me: I'm a 30yo guitar player that plays out of bass and guitar rigs with a host of pedals, and writes heavy stuff that switches between groovy and odd time signatures. The drummers I meet either love the material but admit they can't keep up, or they can but distance, schedules, or commitment conflict. My goal is to have a fun and fulfilling writing process, perform music that pulls people into the moment, and record it. Rehearsal Space: I've got a room at OMC, a van, and would like a drummer that can practice at least once a week. If it works out I'd like some rent contributed to the space, but I also believe in meeting people where they're at financially or otherwise. Rent would be $100 a month tops if split 50/50. My Ideal Drummer: has no loyalty to genre and likes pushing their limits to write something new for themselves, if not combining elements of their style that they haven't before, because that's very much how I write my stuff on guitar for a drummer to experiment with and enjoy. I love drummers that just love playing far out shit. The Music: My guitar is tuned very low, heavy strings, and plays out of Orange amps, so it has its roots in doom metal, but there's at least 50% some combo of post-rock, post-metal, sludge, crust, noise, math, hard rock, surf, shoegaze, hi-life, punk and I'm still open to whatever inspiration life hands me. It's heavy music but not dark and brutal in content - most the songs are about sex, depression, and anti-capitalist/authoritarian sentiments. If interested: I've got some sample recordings that show some of the diversity of stylistic and rhythmic range of the songs. I'm also open to just meeting in person. Just email me and we can go from there if you're interested.
