Description
Sam I Am is a SPECIAL NEEDS case. She is currently very happy, but she does have musculoskeletal abnormalities that will never heal, and is incontinent. Sam I Am is a 30lb DNA tested Siberian Husky Airedale Terrier mix who came to us from our friends over at NEWSNA with an estimated birthday of 10/28/20. Sam suffered from an unknown injury leaving her with two fractured back legs, an aggressive infection in her left hip, and multiple fractures in her pelvis, sacrum, and based of tail. Due to the extent of the infection and injuries, Sam I Am has lost her left hip and is incontinent. She takes proin daily which helps her release her urine in larger bursts rather than leaking, and she does successfully get a lot of her urine expelled outside. Sam is crate trained, leash trained, and knows many commands including wait, sit, and down. She is a breeze on hiking trails, and she is easy to take in public places with her diaper on. Despite her current life experience Sam is a happy, curious girl who loves cuddles, walks, and even short-medium hikes of up to 4-6 miles! Though she does pretty good moving around, she does have trouble climbing stairs and walking at steep inclines. As of now, her quality of life is great and there is nothing indicating that she won't be able to have a relatively normal, although possibly messy life. Because she is missing part of her hip and pelvis, her lifelong medical journey will be as unique as a thumbprint and there is no way for anyone to know how it may play out as the years pass by. Sam I Am is good with other dogs, cats, and small animals. She has lived with a foster for her entire life since being found at one week of age and she is uber social as a result. She would be happy to have any family that would be comfortable with her partial incontinence. Any kids in her life should be old enough to be able to avoid potty accidents and even help clean up. Aside from her incontinence related troubles, she's an excellent and ideal family companion. Sam comes spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $200. She is located in Mead, WA, but we will transport her to you at no cost.
