Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, the registered owner of a stolen vehicle reported being shot at by the suspects of the stolen vehicle. The shots were fired in the area of Highway 285 and Tiny Town. The vehicle, a flatbed pickup truck towing a trailer, was stolen earlier in the day from a commercial business located in the 19000 block of Goddard Ranch Ct. The registered owner spotted the vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 285 near Surrey Dr. around 6:00 p.m. He followed the vehicle onto South Turkey Creek Road to the area of Tiny Town, where the suspects fired multiple shots at the registered owner and shortly after, engaged in gunfire with a Sheriff's deputy.
Deputies pursued the vehicle northbound on Highway 285 past Parmalee Gulch Rd and towards C470. Two deputies were staged on Highway 285 just north of Highway 8 to deploy stop sticks, but as the suspect vehicle approached, it drove off the right shoulder of Highway 285 onto an embankment towards Turkey Creek Rd. The suspects fired multiple shots at the two deputies and we returned fire. The suspect vehicle lost its trailer at this time and continued onto Turkey Creek Rd, traveling north.
