LOUISVILLE, KY — The University of Louisville's Jim Patterson Stadium was deemed "safe and clear" by police after a bomb threat was called into the venue during a Cardinals baseball game Sunday afternoon, school officials said.
The Louisville Metro Police Department's bomb squad searched the stadium before giving the all clear, according to the school.
The game was suspended in the top of the sixth inning, and will resume at 5:10 p.m., according to the Louisville baseball team's Twitter account. Louisville trailed North Carolina 5-1 when play was stopped.
The stadium was evacuated while police investigated the threat.
"We were at the game. Very proud of our crowd everyone left in [an] orderly manner and very polite," one Twitter user said.
The University of Louisville Police Department received a 911 call from someone who saw the threat on an online forum, according to WHAS TV's Tyler Greever.
