Here are the top three stories in Grand Rapids today: The Grand Rapids Beer City Open Pickleball Championships are returning to Grand Rapids this summer. The event will be held at Belknap Park from Jul. 20 to 24. Registration will be opened to the public on Tuesday. Amateurs and professionals above the age of 11 are encouraged to sign-up. (MLive.com)The 1530, a new event venue in Grand Rapids, is opening its doors on Apr. 28. The venue is having a big grand opening that day from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The facility has three separate areas - a ballroom, a rooftop garden, and a loft. The venue is located at 1530 Madison Avenue SE. (MLive.com)Several accidents were caused on Grand Rapids freeways due to slick driving conditions. Accidents on I-96 and US-131 were reported to the Michigan Department of Transportation. Grand Rapids travelers have been advised to practice caution while driving.
