HYATTSVILLE, MD—A man is facing arson charges after deputies say he set a woman's air conditioning unit on fire.
According to the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office, Roderick Jackson was taken into custody on Monday and charged with first-degree arson, second-degree arson, second-degree malicious burning and reckless endangerment.
Deputies say on Sept. 19, 2019, Jackson was in the 5300 block of Quincy Street Hyattsville, MD when he allegedly set fire to a woman's window AC unit.
The victim reported seeing flames and smelled smoke coming from her air conditioner unit where Jackson was standing, deputies said.
She contacted the fire department for emergency assistance.
Jackson then fled the scene before deputies tracked his down two months later and arrested him.
