BROOKFIELD, CT — The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed that 127 cases of the new coronavirus have been reported in Brookfield as of Monday, and four deaths have been attributed to COVID-19. The town has established the "Brookfield Recovers Fund" which is accepting donations to disperse to neighbors in need of assistance. As of April 24 the town had collected over $26,500 in donations. Residents may donate by sending a check to the town at 100 Pocono Road and mention "Brookfield Recovers" on the check or you can donate online through PayPal on the town website. Connecticut continues to see a decline in the net number of hospitalizations. The state is likely seven to 10 days away from an announcement about certain businesses that can be reopened in a limited capacity. There was a drop of eight net hospitalization cases Monday. Another 88 people died, which brings the state's total to 2,012.
